5 Simple ways to incorporate physical activity into your everyday life

Hi! Today I'll be doing my first ever fitness post. This may be somewhat random but nonetheless...
Although I'm definitely no expert, I've been really trying to improve my overall health these days. Most of you may already know but Australia isn't exactly the healthiest country out there, in fact obesity rates have doubled in the past 20 years!

No matter what age or what size you are, physical activity is essential to your general well-being. Many of us don't exercise because we are too busy, don't have time or are simply too lazy so today I'm going to share 5 ways that you can incorporate physical activity into your life by doing everyday activities.

1. Take the stairs instead of the escalators. Although it doesn't sound like it will make a difference, trust me it will add up in the long run.

2. Park your car at spot furthest away from the entrance of the shopping centre. Many of us fight for that parking spot that's right next to the entrance of our local shopping centre but why not park as far away as possible and incorporate some physical activity?

3. If you use public transport, get off at the bus stop before yours and do that extra little walk. Of course, this might not apply to everyone!

4. Shop in-stores rather than online. Trust me, when Carrie Bradshaw said that shopping was her cardio, she wasn't joking. Walking around the shopping centre with all of your shopping bags is a actually pretty good work out; it's tiring but fun =P

5. Exercise in front of the TV. Instead of sitting on the couch, you can do some stretches or simple exercises such a squats.

I hope that these points were helpful! If you have any tips feel free to leave them in the comments below =)

Bondi Beach, Sydney

I typically don't go to the beach as I'm not really a beach person. However, a few weeks ago a relative came to Sydney so we went to Bondi to explore and of course, no visit would be complete without taking a visit to Bondi beach. It was quite empty when we went as it was actually raining, although you probably won't be able to notice in the pictures.

Nonetheless, here are some unfiltered iphone quality pictures for you to enjoy =)

2013 Vivid Sydney

Hi! You probably didn't expect to see a new post from me but I am a major procrastinator and honestly have no motivation to study atm! =(
Anyways, a few weeks ago I managed to go to the Vivid Light Festival and I thought today would be a nice time to share my favourite shots from the night, hope you enjoy! =)

throwback: 2012 Vivid Sydney

As some of you guys may know, Vivid is approaching this time next week!
For those of you who aren't from Sydney, Vivid is a light show festival which displays light installations and projections.

Last year I went to Vivid for the first time and I thought that it was amazing!
I would definitely recommend going but make sure you dress warm as it gets pretty damn cold at night in the city.
It's also pretty crowded but you can still have a good time and it's an event where all ages are welcome =)

Vivid includes light displays as well as interactive installations. However, last year the interactive ones had huge lines so I would suggest getting there early.
The Vivid light festival runs from the 24th of May until the 10th of June this year.
Also, it's free!

So since there's only a week until Vivid, I thought that I would share some of the photos that I took last year just to give you guys an idea about what kinds of things to expect if you're planning on going and to share my experiences with those of you who can't make it! I hope ya enjoyyy =)

The pretty Sydney Harbour Bridge! Apparently this year you'll be able to "paint" the bridge via some touch screen thing- sounds pretty cool!

How I Organise My Scarves

So if you have seen my last few hauls you may have noticed that I like scarves =)
I think that scarves just make your outfit look so much more interesting, yet at the same time they are so effortless!

I have accumulated quite a few scarves and I figured that I needed a better system than just throwing them into a box. I used to roll them neatly and organise them in a giant box but I would just end up throwing them back into the box and the box wouldn't close...

Recently, I watched Carly Cristman's closet tour (link here in case you are interested) and she organised her scarves on a towel rack. It looked really neat and easy to access so I thought I would copy her hehe...

I found this over-the-door hook at the dollar store and it was only $4!

DIY: Ring Holder

Hi! So if you're an organisational freak like me, you like to have your jewellery laid out in front of you so that you know exactly where everything is.

Organising your rings will ensure that you won't lose them and give you easy access to them...so here is a quick and easy DIY on how to make your very own Ring Holder!

What you will need:
  • A lid (I used one from a shoe box)
  • A pen
  • Some bobby pins
  • Fabric that has the same length as the lid

Sydney Festival 2013 - Rubber Ducky!

Hi =) So some of you may know that there is a massive rubber duck at Darling Harbour in Sydney!
It is actually part of the Sydney Festival 2013 and is an artwork made by Florentijn Hofman.

I saw it for the first time on Tuesday!
